Our Story

Frasers Mulled Wine is founded by sisters Jen and Adele. We were born and bred in Sheffield and now we live in Leyton, East London (Jen) and Horsforth, near Leeds (Adele).

We had the idea after hosting a Christmas party back in 2013. We made a big batch of our homemade mulled wine and everyone kept asking for more.

When a friend joked that we should bottle it, our idea went from there. We wanted to offer an alternative that captured the unique taste and aroma of homemade mulled wine.

In the first couple of years there was lots of trial and error and we started out by selling our wine at various Christmas markets. Jen in London and Adele in and around Yorkshire.

One of our most memorable events was Harrogate Christmas Market. A huge crowd of people were queuing out of the marquee to get a glass of our mulled wine - it was a buzz and we realised we might be onto something.

We started trading on a small scale, fitting this in around full-time careers and having children.

During lockdown in 2020 when we found out all the winter markets were cancelled, we took a leap and opened our very own online shop. Our aim was to ‘deliver a taste of Christmas to people’s doors’. So that’s what we did!

We were delighted with the feedback we received, especially from BBC Good Food, when wine expert Henry Jeffreys described our mulled wine as ‘the best he’d ever tried’.

Following on from this, in December 2021 Jen was invited onto the Christmas edition of James Martin’s Saturday Morning where he made poached pears with our mulled wine!

And for the last two year’s in a row we’ve been named ‘Best upmarket mulled wine’ by BBC Good Food, something we are very proud of.
